1. Overview

Stays Worth Remembering is a short-term rental and hospitality brand offering curated vacation stays, primarily in the Park City, Utah area. This Privacy Policy describes how Stays Worth Remembering, the applicable property owner, host of record, property-owning entity, and our service providers collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information.

This Policy applies to information collected through staysworthremembering.com, related pages, contact forms, email, phone, SMS/text messaging, direct-booking links, guest communications, and other interactions with us. It also explains how information may be handled when you are redirected to a third-party booking platform, including Guesty, Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com, or other online travel agencies or booking providers.

Important Booking Note

When you complete a booking through Guesty or an online travel agency, that platform’s own privacy policy, terms, payment rules, cancellation rules, and data practices may also apply. We do not control every part of those third-party systems.

2. Who We Are and Scope of This Policy

For purposes of this Privacy Policy, “Stays Worth Remembering,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the Stays Worth Remembering brand and, where applicable, the property owner, property-owning LLC, manager, host, or affiliated entity responsible for a specific property or reservation.

Because individual properties may be owned by separate legal entities, the specific contracting party for a stay may be the owner or LLC associated with the property you book. Stays Worth Remembering may provide marketing, guest communication, hospitality, operational, or management services for those properties.

This Policy is intended to cover website visitors, prospective guests, booked guests, direct-booking guests, OTA guests, vendors, service providers, and other individuals who communicate with us.

3. Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with us, whether you are browsing our website, submitting a contact form, booking a stay, communicating with guest support, or using a property during a reservation.

A. Information You Provide Directly

  • Name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and contact preferences.
  • Messages, inquiries, support requests, special requests, and communication history.
  • Reservation details, including arrival and departure dates, number of guests, selected property, and trip-related preferences.
  • Information you provide through contact forms, booking forms, guest portals, email, SMS, phone calls, or other communication channels.
  • Identity or verification information if required by a booking platform, payment processor, insurance provider, property rule, or legal obligation.
  • Payment-related information when you book a stay. Full payment card data is generally processed by third-party payment processors, booking platforms, or merchant services rather than stored directly by us.

B. Website and Technical Information

  • IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring page, pages visited, and approximate location derived from your device or IP address.
  • Cookie identifiers, analytics identifiers, session information, and information about how you interact with our website.
  • Information collected through website security tools, spam prevention tools, analytics services, forms, embedded content, or similar technologies.

C. Booking, Stay, and Guest Information

  • Reservation records, booking source, payment status, cancellation status, guest count, check-in and check-out information, house rule acknowledgments, and guest support history.
  • Guest communications sent through Guesty, Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com, direct email, SMS, phone, or other systems.
  • Information related to damages, maintenance requests, lost items, cleaning issues, safety concerns, noise complaints, access issues, or disputes.

D. Property Access, Safety, and Operations Information

  • Smart lock access codes, access logs, garage entry information, check-in activity, and related security or operational data.
  • Exterior security camera footage or doorbell camera activity where cameras are installed and disclosed. We do not intentionally place cameras inside private living spaces.
  • Noise, occupancy, environmental, water leak, temperature, humidity, or similar sensor alerts if such devices are installed at a property.
  • Wi-Fi network usage information if you use guest Wi-Fi at a property, such as device connection data, network diagnostics, or security logs, depending on the provider and configuration.

E. Information from Third Parties

  • Booking information received from Guesty, Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com, Expedia, Google Vacation Rentals, or other booking channels.
  • Payment confirmation, fraud-screening, chargeback, tax, accounting, or trust-and-safety information from payment processors and service providers.
  • Information from property service providers, cleaners, maintenance vendors, inspectors, local authorities, HOAs, resort associations, or guest support vendors when needed to operate the property or resolve an issue.

4. How We Use Information

We use personal information for legitimate business, hospitality, operational, legal, and safety purposes, including to:

  • Respond to inquiries and provide information about properties, availability, rates, policies, and guest services.
  • Process, manage, confirm, modify, or cancel reservations.
  • Provide check-in instructions, access codes, guest support, stay information, and post-stay communication.
  • Operate, maintain, clean, inspect, repair, secure, and improve our properties.
  • Coordinate with property owners, service providers, cleaners, maintenance vendors, inspectors, software platforms, booking channels, payment processors, and guest support tools.
  • Process payments, security deposits, refunds, chargebacks, damages, taxes, fees, and accounting records.
  • Enforce house rules, booking terms, property policies, HOA rules, resort rules, safety rules, and legal obligations.
  • Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, unauthorized access, excessive noise, property damage, safety incidents, illegal activity, or misuse of the property or website.
  • Improve our website, guest experience, direct-booking flow, customer service, marketing, and operations.
  • Send marketing or promotional communications where permitted by law and subject to your opt-out rights.
  • Comply with applicable laws, taxes, STR licensing requirements, subpoenas, court orders, law enforcement requests, insurance requirements, and regulatory obligations.

5. Bookings, Guesty, OTAs, and Payment Providers

Our website may link to or integrate with Guesty, a booking engine, property management system, channel manager, payment processor, online travel agency, or other third-party provider. These providers may collect and process your information under their own privacy policies and terms.

If you book through Guesty, Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com, Expedia, Google Vacation Rentals, or another platform, information such as your name, email, phone number, reservation dates, guest count, payment details, messages, identity-verification details, cancellation status, and booking history may be processed by that platform. We receive information from those platforms as needed to manage your stay.

Payment card information is typically processed by third-party payment processors or the booking platform. We generally do not store full card numbers directly on our own website systems. However, we may receive payment status, transaction IDs, last-four card details, chargeback information, refund records, tax records, or other payment-related information necessary to operate the business.

Guesty’s policies can be reviewed here: Guesty Privacy Policy and Guesty Terms of Service.

6. Smart Devices, Security Devices, Wi-Fi, and Property Technology

Some properties may include smart locks, garage access systems, thermostats, water heater controls, leak sensors, Wi-Fi systems, exterior cameras, doorbell cameras, noise monitoring devices, occupancy-related sensors, or similar property technology.

These systems may collect operational or safety-related information, including access code activity, lock events, device status, alerts, environmental readings, noise-level alerts, network diagnostics, or exterior video footage where exterior cameras are present.

Noise monitoring devices, if installed, are intended to measure decibel levels or detect potential disturbances. They are not intended to record private conversations. Exterior cameras, if installed, are intended for safety, security, access verification, and property protection. We do not intentionally install cameras inside bedrooms, bathrooms, or other private living areas.

Property technology may be provided by third-party vendors, and those vendors may process limited information to provide their services. Device availability, features, and data retention may vary by property.

7. Cookies, Analytics, and Tracking Technologies

Our website may use cookies, pixels, scripts, tags, local storage, analytics tools, and similar technologies to operate the website, remember preferences, improve performance, measure traffic, understand how visitors use the site, protect against spam or fraud, and support marketing.

We may use service providers such as Squarespace, Google Analytics, Google services, Meta/Facebook tools, embedded maps, form tools, spam-prevention tools, or similar providers. These tools may collect information such as IP address, device type, browser type, page views, referral source, session data, and interaction data.

You can usually control cookies through your browser settings. If we implement non-essential advertising or analytics cookies that require consent or opt-out under applicable law, we will provide a cookie banner, cookie settings, or another appropriate control.

Some browsers offer “Do Not Track” signals. Because there is not a uniform industry standard for responding to such signals, our website may not respond to every Do Not Track signal. Where legally required, we will honor applicable opt-out preference signals.

8. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information in the ordinary sense of exchanging guest information for money. We may share information with service providers, booking platforms, vendors, and legal or operational partners when reasonably necessary.

We may share information with:

  • Guesty, booking engines, channel managers, OTAs, payment processors, fraud-prevention providers, and booking-related service providers.
  • Property owners, property-owning entities, managers, co-hosts, accountants, attorneys, insurance providers, and business advisors.
  • Cleaners, maintenance vendors, inspectors, contractors, smart device vendors, Wi-Fi providers, lock providers, security vendors, and guest support providers.
  • Marketing, analytics, website, email, SMS, CRM, phone, and communication service providers.
  • HOAs, resort associations, local authorities, tax authorities, law enforcement, courts, regulators, or other parties when required or permitted by law.
  • Successors parties when required or permitted by law.
  • Successors or counterparties in connection with a merger, sale, acquisition, financing, transfer, restructuring, or similar business transaction involving the brand, a property, or a property-owning entity.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to personal information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion of information, a copy of information, restriction or objection to certain processing, opt-out of certain data sharing or targeted advertising, or withdrawal of consent.

California Residents

California residents may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act. These may include the right to know what personal information is collected, used, disclosed, sold, or shared; the right to request deletion; the right to correct inaccurate information; the right to opt out of sale or sharing; the right to limit certain uses of sensitive personal information; and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights.

We do not knowingly sell personal information for money. If we use advertising or analytics tools that are considered “sharing” or “targeted advertising” under applicable law, we will provide legally required opt-out mechanisms.

Utah and Other U.S. State Residents

Residents of Utah and other states may have rights under state privacy laws if those laws apply to our business. Some laws only apply to businesses that meet certain revenue, data volume, or processing thresholds. Even where a law does not formally apply, you may contact us with privacy-related requests, and we will review them reasonably.

European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Similar Jurisdictions

If GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar laws apply, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, request portability, and withdraw consent. Where required, our legal bases may include performance of a contract, consent, legitimate interests, compliance with legal obligations, and protection of vital interests.

How to Submit a Request

To submit a privacy request, contact us using the information in the “Contact Us” section. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. We may deny, limit, or retain certain information where permitted or required by law, including for security, fraud prevention, tax, accounting, legal, dispute-resolution, property damage, chargeback, or contractual reasons.

10. Data Retention and Security

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to provide services, manage reservations, comply with legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud, maintain business records, and protect property and guests.

Retention periods vary depending on the type of information. Contact inquiries may be kept for a shorter period. Reservation, tax, payment, accounting, insurance, damage, chargeback, and legal records may be kept longer. Smart lock records, access codes, sensor alerts, or security-related records may be kept as needed for operational, safety, dispute, or legal purposes.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. These may include HTTPS, access controls, vendor management, password protections, limited access, platform security features, and other safeguards. However, no system, website, platform, or transmission method is completely secure.

11. Children’s Privacy

Our website and booking services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Reservations must be made by adults who are legally able to enter contracts. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child in violation of applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

12. International Visitors

We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States or other countries. If you access our website or services from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be processed in jurisdictions that may have different data protection laws than your location.

13. Email, SMS, and Communications

By providing your contact information, you authorize us and our service providers to contact you regarding inquiries, reservations, stay details, property access, guest support, safety, payment, damages, lost items, or other service-related matters. These communications may be sent by email, phone, SMS/text message, booking-platform message, or other communication channels.

If you opt into marketing communications, you may unsubscribe at any time using the link in the email or by contacting us. Transactional or service-related messages may still be sent when necessary for a reservation or business purpose.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date above. Continued use of our website or services after a revised Policy is posted means the revised Policy applies going forward.
